Wood

Joseph Lenore Wood was born in about 1821 in Cooper County, Missouri. His father, Andrew Wood, was 30, and his mother, Jane Howard Wood, was 27. He married Tabitha Dorcas / Dorkis /Dorkas Moon "Mooney" in Morgan, Missouri, on February 10, 1841. They had six children in 15 years. He died in Osage, Missouri, and was buried in Morgan, Missouri.

His Story

Joseph was the son of Andrew Wood and Jane Howard. He was a farmer. He appears in three different censuses. He was 29 in 1850. There is a land record that needs to be verified. From what we know, he lived his entire life in Missouri. It is his father that came to Missouri.  

Joseph was born in Missouri the same year it became a state, and Cooper County was founded four years prior in 1818. 

RESEARCHERS NOTES

CENSUS: JOSEPH SHOULD BE FOUND IN 1830, 1840, 1850, 1860, AND 1870. He will be a tick mark in his father's first few censuses. 
 

There were many Joseph Wood/s in Missouri in 1820. One is confused with this Joseph. I will list his information. 
 

Please look at the names passed down, such as Andrew, Lenore, Russell, Rachel, and Lloyd.
